Gettysburg Again

It's my second time to visit this hallowed place where I always feel sad. In the end everyone becomes friends. And even allies  to go on and fight new enemies. North Carolina lost the most men. Every fourth casualty at Gettysburg was a North Carolinian.

Highway 151 near Roseland, Virginia. We traveled local roads and the Blue Ridge Parkway / Skyline Drive. Beautiful farms. Abandoned old homes. Stunning mountain views.

It does not get any better than at Fat Budďies. See http://www.fatbuddiesribsandbbq.com .  Fantastic Baby Back Ribs. The Pumpkin Crunch Pie served with Cinnamon Ice Cream was extraordinary.  So good that I could move to North Carolina for the food.

So much fun. Good food,  great  company, lots of laughs. We all loved our individual chocolate bunnies.

The Alligator is very easy to see in Florida, especially along the Anhinga Trail in the Everglades.

I feel so privileged to have seen Lucy so close. Usually she is on the other side with her mate, a 45 year old toothless male. Big Daddy rules over a harem of 5 females.

Worth the trip. After seeing the exhibition of Greek bronzes, we visited the American and Italian exhibitions.

Cooking in my rice cooker and blogging with my phone

Cooked up delicious grits and eggs this morning. Just a dry run. But I never worry about eating well. As for the phone, I barely know how to call on this device. So this trip may be short on blog entries, but be assured that I will be feasting with my rice cooker.
