Back to Savannah

In Bradenton, Florida, we watched sunset plus saw a wonderful Irish show with Marilyn and Dan. We had lots of good meals too. Now we are back in Savannah walking along the river front and eating Wiley's barbecue and Savannah Kitchen pralines. In a few days we'll do another visit to the National Zoo to see the Kiwi again. btw our National Zoo (in 1975) was the first zoo outside of New Zealand to hatch a kiwi chick.

POURING Rain for Superbowl Sunday

You can not believe how much rain is coming down here in normally sunny Key West is normally sunny. The motel court yard is flooded and we have put a towel against the bottom of the door because of we are afraid the water may pour in. The roar on the tin roof is so loud, I can barely hear the Superbowl and I have earphones!

Rainy Superbowl Sunday in Key West

Too much rain. We are trapped in our room in Key West with off and on torrential rains. Good time to post some photos.
Here he is! Koa, our very own Kiwi, who lives in the National Zoo in DC. What a beauty he is and I will let you know as soon as I post his video. There are only about 6 zoos in the US with Kiwi. National Zoo has quite a few Kiwi. See the presentation by Kathy Brader who is one of the world's kiwi breeding experts. We were fortunate to see her Meet a Kiwi program. Bet you did not know that kiwis like to have the back of their necks scratched. You have to see it to believe it.
Savannah, has wonderful barbecue and a great riverfront. Did you know that Savannah does more ship business than any other port I can think of.
Bruce can just sit and watch those ships go by all day long. The only thing he likes better is Wiley's Barbecue.

Out Again

Very little time to blog. 80 degrees at the gate of the Everglades. So many gorgeous birds. Adorable otters (yes, I got them on video) and not so gorgeous alligators. Highlight so far was Koa, the kiwi, at our National Zoo.
