It is 100+ degrees in America and Europe, but in Iceland, there is snow in the Westfjords.

We are driving around, in jackets, admiring fjords like Arnarfjörður (one of Iceland's most spectacular), bird watching (puffins, Artic terns), and eating the best fish.

Yes, there is crocodile in the water. 

Everglades HOT HOT HOT

Everglades is so HOT in April that  we stay cooped up in our hotel room from 11:30 to about 3.

However in the morning and afternoons and early evenings we prowl and find birds, like Roseate Spoonbills, Swallow-tailed Kites, Wood Storks, and more.

And of course lots of Alligators.  At the less visited end of the park we found the rare and endangered American Crocodile.  We also saw a Cottonmouth and a Diamond-backed Rattlesnake. Both venomous.

Nice sunsets and barbecue too.

Alabama

Alabama is a place where they speak a foreign language, but they seem to understand English. Their tv transmits in English. They do some really fine barbecue.

Gettysburg Again

It's my second time to visit this hallowed place where I always feel sad. In the end everyone becomes friends. And even allies  to go on and fight new enemies. North Carolina lost the most men. Every fourth casualty at Gettysburg was a North Carolinian.

Highway 151 near Roseland, Virginia. We traveled local roads and the Blue Ridge Parkway / Skyline Drive. Beautiful farms. Abandoned old homes. Stunning mountain views.

So much fun. Good food,  great  company, lots of laughs. We all loved our individual chocolate bunnies.

The Alligator is very easy to see in Florida, especially along the Anhinga Trail in the Everglades.
